Hi Everyone,

Are we having July in September? I have lived here for over 36 years, and have never seen a September like this. We have broken 100 degrees 4 times this month, we broke 90 on the first 22 days of the month (On top of the last 4 days of August), and almost every day last week, we broke or tied a record for that day. But, right on cue, the first day of Fall, we have cooled off to comfortable. (By the way, please excuse the erroneous lines below, if they show up–I can’t seem to delete them).

This Sunday, I will be performing three of my original songs at our CSLN Service, with their great House Band. It’s been a while, so I am really looking forward to it. The service starts with the music right at 10:30, followed by Rev. John Adams, whose talks are always both inspiration and down to earth and authentic. This weeks’s talk is “Healing Magic.” 160 Belle Forest Circle, Nashville, 37221.

And on Friday, Oct. 2nd we will be having our CSLN Coffeehouse, and I will be one of the three Spotlight Performers doing a 25 minute set there. I am in great company–the other two performers are Dana Cooper (I have heard his name for years, but never seen him perform) and Gary Gullbergh, whose music is as unique as it is captivating.

6 P.M. Open Mic Sign Up–7 slots available.

6:30 – 7 P.M. Open Mic: Original songs, poems, stand up comedy, short stories. One presentation per performer, up to 5 minutes

7 P.M., 7:30, 8 P.M. Spotlight Performers (I don’t have the order at this time).

Potluck snacks and drinks, and love offering to CSLN greatly appreciated

Just a brief update. This Sunday, 6/14/26 I will be the Guest Performer at the CSLN Sunday Service. I am honored to be performing with Sean O’Shea, one of our acting Music Directors on keyboards, and the CSLN Band, including Don Morgan on Bass and (I believe) Spence Strand on Drums.

I will be performing two of my originals: CHAIN OF FEAR, and STRONG STUFF (Which is so old, it’ll sound new to most of you), and singing with Sean on Donna Michael’s A LIGHT IN THIS WORLD. Reverend John Adams will be giving the talk re: the “Divine Masculine.” Last week was about the “Divine Feminine” and next Sunday will be about the integration of both . Rev. John is a very down to earth and engaging speaker, so if you haven’t come for a while, this would be an excellent time to hear our new minister in our new building, and some wonderful music. Hope to see you there.

Be safe, be well, be you.

Hi Everyone,

I hope you had a nice Memorial Day Weekend, as we transition into the summer season.

I enjoyed a nice visit with my long time friends Marty and Carol recently. They were visiting from the Bay area . Always nice catching up, and to see their two grandbabies again. The song circle at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Shaun and Sam was icing on the cake.

CSLN’s Bi-monthly Coffeehouse is coming up on Friday, June 5th (See flyer below). We have 3 great Spotlight Performers lined up: Lisa Firestone, Alissa Moreno, and Christopher Strand. Lisa is a singer-songwriter and long time New Thought Music Director, who performs songs that speak to the heart. She has been a frequent guest at our Sunday Services, and is one of 3 temporary rotating music directors scheduled over the next 3 months at our service.

Alissa co-wrote the Grammy-nominated hit “Every Day” for Rascal Flats and has been a frequent performer at Unity Services for years.

Christopher Strand is a singer/songwriter/actor who has toured with Martina McBride’s “Joy Of Christmas” show, and has also sung several times at our Sunday Services.

Here are the particulars:

Sign up for Open Mic is at 6 p.m.

Open Mic 6:30 – 7 P.M.  (Seven slots available) Original songs, poems, short  stories, stand up comedy.  (Please limit your presentation to 5 minutes).

Spotlight performances at 7 p.m., 7:30, and 8 p.m.

Potluck snacks and drinks, and love offering to CSLN appreciated.

Finally, CSLN will have a booth at the 7th Annual Nashville Wellness Festival, held at the State Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 30th from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. There are 120 vendors expected to participate, including Chiropractic services, Yoga, Red Light Method, Acupuncture, and many, many others. Some will be offering free demonstrations, including CSLN, where Practitioners will be offering free Spiritual Mind Treatments (One of the cornerstones of our teaching). Our booth is #16 at Expo 3. I will be volunteering from 1:30 – 3:30, along with others from CSLN. If you are at the festival, please stop by and say hi.

Okay, that’s it for now.

Be safe, be well, be you.

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick notice. Please join family and friends for Brian Wright’s Celebration of Life, on Saturday, April 18th, set in the lovely, wooded environs of the Clubhouse at Coronada Condominiums, off Hwy 70S in Bellevue. (The official address is 250 Chimney Hill Road, Nashville, TN 37221.)

There will be a service at 3 p.m. and a potluck at 4 p.m. (Brian loved potlucks), followed by a song circle from 5 – 7 p.m. (Brian also loved participating in song circles, backing up performers with his wonderful spontaneous lead guitar licks).

Brian loved the St. Louis Cardinals and the Nashville Sounds, so people are encouraged to wear something that represents one of those teams, or something with a guitar or music note on it.

Because parking near the clubhouse is limited, there has been talk of volunteers providing a shuttle service from the Kroger parking lot to the Clubhouse, but that has not been confirmed yet, as of this writing.

This is our chance to say thank you and farewell to a beloved member of our community. Hope you can make it.
