Gordon’s song “I’m Still Here”, co-written with Marty Rainone, now appears on The Rains Americana debut CD, “Stubborn Dreams”, which was just released in August. This working person’s anthem first appeared on Gordon’s country CD, “Memory Machine”, in 2000, and has maintained its timliness and popularity all these years. Gordon’s version can be found on iTunes, Amazon, and other online music stores, and his video can be accessed from the Video page.
Gordon will have a cut on the Rains upcoming CD, (“Stubborn Dreams”) with the working person’s anthem “I’m Still Here”, co-written with Rains member Marty Rainone, many years ago. The song remains popular even after all this time, due to the timeless nature of the topic. On July 18th, Gordon performed a 25 minute set at Chuck Whiting’s Tunesmithing songwriters show . It was a wonderful night of great songs and performances, including great responses to each of Gordon’s songs. Thanks, to all who came out to support the writers.
Gordon performed eleven of his songs at the CSLN Yard Sale on Saturday, June 28th, 2014, and was joined on a few of them by singer J. Karen Thomas. Gordon also backed up J. Karen on guitar and vocals on several songs.
Chuck Whiting’s Tunesmithing show has found a new home, and is resuming on Wednesday, July 16th. Gordon has been re-booked to perform that evening, along with 4 other writers to be determined, each doing a 25 minute set. While Gordon’s time slot is not set yet, the show runs from 7 to approximately 9:30–come out and support all the writers, if you can–Chuck always has a great lineup. The new location is the ALOFT HOTEL, 1719 West End Ave (Formerly Hotel Indigo).
Gordon’s performance at Tunesmithing will not be taking place on June 17th, due to the fact that Tunesmithing is looking for a new venue for its writers shows. Tunesmithing hopes to resume in the fall, and Gordon will be worked back into the rotation. Stay tuned.
On May 1st of 2014, this site was re-built and partly re-designed, as the old version was no longer compatible with newer technologies. This new version will once again allow the addition of news items, new music, and other content.
Gordon will be participating in the Co-Creators’ Coffeehouse new Spotlight Circle, where three performers will do a short set of 3 – 4 songs each, before the Featured Performance. Sharing the bill will be Joni Bishop and Maddie Cartwright. This part of the night is in the CSLN Community Room. An Open Mic will precede the Spotlight Circle at 6:30. Potluck snacks, drinks and love offering appreciated.
Gordon will be hosting and performing a song for the 14th Anniversary of CSLN’s Co-Creators’ Coffeehouse, in what will also be a benefit for Butterfly, to raise funds for procedures to restore her vision. Also on the bill are Brett Cartwright, Lance Hoppen, J. Karen Thomas, Sean O’Shea, Shawn Gallaway, Laurie O’Shea, Rick Perry, Joel Atkins, Brian Wright, and possible surprise guests.
